What is Quart?
Quartz is one of the most abundant minerals found at Earth’s surface. As a mineral, quartz refers to a specific chemical compound consisting of one part of silicon dioxide (SiO2) and two parts oxygen, having a specific crystalline form (hexagonal). The white sands typically found in river beds and on beaches are usually composed mainly of quartz, with some white or pink feldspar as well.

Manufactured from high purity natural silica sand, Fused silica features high purity and electricity resistance, lowest thermal expansion, and exceptionally good thermal shock resistance. All these characteristics of fused silica, making it ideal for insulative applications, and precision casting mold applications. Epoxy molded compounds (with fused silica as a key constituent) are used as a base and encapsulating material for electronic circuitry. This application makes use of fused silica low electrical conductivity and insulative capacity, chemical inertness, and electrical transparency with respect to electromagnetic radiation.
